Africa has had surprisingly good economic growth, improved health, and improved governance in the 21st century. It’s a bit under-reported though so I mention this in case you also didn’t know that most things are going right there.

Patrick KennedyUnfortunately people in Ireland don’t seem to recognise this at all as 53% of them think Africa is only as well off (or worse off) than it was 20 years ago.
